With Homecoming weekend underway, the Penn State All-Sports Museum will have extended hours on Friday and Sunday to accommodate the thousands of alumni and fans descending on Happy Valley.
The museum will be open Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Because of special requirements for stadium operations during home football games, the museum is closed on all game day Saturdays.
Coach Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions (4-2) host Northwestern (2-5) in the 83rd Homecoming game Saturday at 12:05 p.m.
The museum is located in the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium adjacent to the museum gift shop operated by the Penn State Book Store. A canopy leading from Curtin Road marks the museum entrance.
Admission to the museum is free but visitors need to obtain a souvenir ticket at the museum reception desk for entry into the exhibits. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday except for home football game weekends.
The weekday and Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday hours are 12 to 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays. However, hours are extended on Friday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) of home football weekends, including this weekend.
Visitors can park at the parking meters in the lot directly across Curtin Road from the Museum entrance and the parking meters located in the Founder's Lot on the East side of the Bryce Jordan Center.
A very limited number of tickets remain for the Northwestern football game and all four of the Nittany Lions' remaining home games. All four of remaining home opponents have returned tickets, which are on sale at the athletic ticket office in the Jordan Center.
The ticket office is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Non-student tickets can be purchased by calling the Jordan Center ticket phone room at 814-865-5555 or 800-863-3336, weekdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Non-student tickets also are available at www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, by clicking on the football ticket icon on the front page of the website.
