It wouldn't be Signing Day without a little drama, and this year Rivals100 wide receiver John Dunmore was happy to oblige.

After committing to Penn State in July, the Hollywood, Fla., native held firm with his commitment throughout the majority of the cycle, but as it neared its end, he began to take a closer look at Miami. In addition to just speaking with Mark Richt and his assistants, Dunmore took a few unofficial visits to Coral Gables to watch practice. He also attended a few games late in the season.

Once the contact period began in the final week of November, he then hosted assistants from both Penn State and Miami on a weekly basis. James Franklin, Ja'Juan Seider and David Corley met with Dunmore's family one last time Wednesday, Dec. 14. That's when he let the staff know that he was going to take an official visit to Miami that upcoming weekend, Dec. 13-15.

However, despite all of that, rumors were positive for the Nittany Lions following Dunmore's in-home visit with Franklin. Sources said at the time that he was still expected to sign with the Penn State. The held true.

Dunmore is a major addition to the Class of 2019, especially following the loss of WR Emery Simmons, who signed with North Carolina earlier today, and Cornelius Johnson, who committed to Michigan at 9 AM this morning. We still believe it's possible that Penn State offers another 2019 wide receiver, but at this time, Franklin and Corley haven't made a move.

This past season, Dunmore totaled 53 receptions for 853 yards and eight touchdowns. He helped lead Chaminade-Madonna to a 12-2 record, winning the Florida Class 3A State Championship.Dunmore is an Under Armour All-American who participated in both the Rivals Five-Star Challenge and the The Opening Final this past summer. Locally, he earned Broward County Super 11 honors and was first-team all-county this season. He currently ranks No. 59 overall, No. 11 at wide receiver and No. 10 in Florida for the 2019 class.
