Five future Nittany Lions earn spot in latest Rivals100
Five of the 17 players that are set to sign with the Nittany Lions in just a few weeks earned a spot in the penultimate Rivals100, which was released Tuesday.
As expected, running back Devyn Ford, who sits at No. 16 overall, remains the highest-ranked player in Penn State's Class of 2019. He moved down just one spot in the latest release. Offensive lineman Caedan Wallace is now the second-highest ranked player in the class. He also made the biggest jump forward, moving up an impressive 16 spots, from No. 69 to No. 53.
Linebacker Brandon Smith and wide receiver John Dunmore can be found just behind Wallace. Smith moved up one spot to No. 57, while Dunmore moved down five spots to No. 59. Offensive lineman Saleem Wormley, who sits at No. 92, is the fifth and final committed prospect within the top 100. He moved down 10 spots, from No. 82 to No. 92.
There are also five players on the list that James Franklin and his staff are still actively pursuing. At the top sits defensive ends Nolan Smith and Zach Harrison, as well as offensive lineman Darnell Wright. Smith is the highest-ranked remaining target, sitting at No. 5, while Wright sits just one spot behind him at No. 6. Harrison is now the 14th-ranked prospect in the country.
Penn State's top two remaining targets at running back also sit in the top 100. Mark-Antony Richards, who took an official visit to University Park for the game against Iowa, currently sits at No. 63 overall. He moved up seven spots from No. 70. Noah Cain sits just 10 spots behind Richards at No. 73.
