Four-star Fries makes the call

Penn State added its second four-star offensive lineman in as many weeks Tuesday night when Will Fries from Cranford (N.J.) verbally committed to the Nittany Lions.
At 6-foot-6, 265 pounds, Fries is considered by Rivals.com as the No. 15 offensive guard in the country and the No. 10 overall prospect in New Jersey's Class of 2016. He chose Penn State from nearly two dozen scholarship offers, including Clemson, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

Fries recently visited Michigan, which was one of Penn State's biggest competitors in Fries' recruitment.
He last visited Penn State in early April for two days. He watched a spring practice and also spent time with current offensive linemen Noah Beh, Brendan Brosnan and Chance Sorrell. He said he found the opportunity to talk with current players "really helpful." In addition to current players, Fries also had the opportunity to meet Penn State president Eric Barron.
"I always feel really welcomed there and this visit wasn't any different," Fries said. "I'm already pretty comfortable with them, so I wouldn't say anything specifically stood out, mainly because I've seen everything already. I did get to meet the school's president today. That was cool. He was at practice."
Fries earned his Penn State offer in December.
Blue White Illustrated will have continuing coverage of Fries' commitment this week.
