Penn State continues its match toward Saturday's home opener with Ball State on Wednesday.

The Nittany Lions will open practice to the media for a bit tonight, and following that, head coach James Franklin will speak with reporters, as will receiver Jahan Dotson.

Until then, let's kick things off with the daily newsstand, which today has notes on NIL, a PSU coach earning praise, and more.

Apparel company BreakingT says that Penn State safety Jaquan Brisker is No. 15 in the country for NIL value after his big day at Wisconsin.

It's unclear if the veteran defender has signed any name, image, and likeness deals since it became OK to do so back in the summer, but opportunities should present themselves if he keeps playing like this.

Quote of the day

"Really, the message hasn't changed. In the past, I would say 'Wisconsin' 75 times and then 'Ball State' 75 times, because the message was that our entire focus needs to be on this game, this opponent and being 1-0. The problem is, our Penn State fans understand that, the media understand that, but the opponent that we’re playing, that maybe follows me for the week, doesn’t. So they think it’s a slight or they think it’s a shot or them, ... and I never mean to seem disrespectful to an opponent ever. ... It’s more just about, I don’t want other people misinterpreting what we’re talking about."

--Penn State coach James Franklin in response to a question about tweeting 1-0 instead of the opponent's name now, as transcribed by SI.
