Lundy picks Penn State

Penn State’s Class of 2019 added its jewel Friday afternoon.

Announcing his decision via Twitter, Rivals150 small forward Seth Lundy (6-foot-6, 195 pounds) picked the Nittany Lions over serious consideration from Marquette, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. Ranked No. 118 overall in the Class of 2019, the four-star is considered the nation’s No. 25-ranked small forward in the class.

Noting his love for each of his four final schools, Lundy made his choice known.

"Unfortunately I can only go to one school," he said. "So next year, in the fall of 2019, I’m going to be attending Penn State University."

Lundy helped lift Roman Catholic to another city Catholic League title and another PIAA state championship last season.

According to Philly.com, Lundy produced 16.4 points and 8.7 rebounds last season as Roman Catholic fought its way to a Philadelphia Catholic League title, topped soon after by a PIAA state championship. The Cahillites, of course, have been a major pipeline to the Nittany Lions in recent years, sending Shep Garner, Tony Carr, Lamar Stevens and Nazeer Bostick all to University Park.

And it was Penn State's relationship with Lundy that ultimately led him to the Nittany Lions.

"For Penn State, they've been recruiting me since I was a freshman," he said. "I appreciate the whole coaching staff and the head coach, Pat Chambers, for everything they've done."

Lundy’s decision brings Patrick Chambers’ Class of 2019 to four members, joining three star forward Pat Kelly, three-star center Abdou Tsimbila, and three star power forward Justin McKoy.

With Lundy's verbal commitment, the Nittany Lions are likely to wrap their recruiting efforts for the early signing period in November, the Class of 2019 filling its allotment.
