National Letter of Intent day for Penn State's Class of 2017 starts on a bold note.
At 6:15 Wednesday morning, three star defensive tackle Corey Bolds from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic announced that he was committing to the Nittany Lions.

Bolds first earned his scholarship from Penn State last February and then took an official visit in November, but it wasn't until early Wednesday when the coaches reaffirmed his offer.
Now ranked a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com, Bolds had accumulated close to 20 scholarship offers throughout his recruitment. At one time or another, he had earned offers from Alabama, Boston College, California, Clemson, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Rutgers, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
His only other official visit was to Rutgers on Jan. 20.
Bolds joins fellow New Jersey product Fred Hansard as the second defensive tackle in Penn State's recruiting class.
Rivals considers Bolds to be the No. 21-ranked prospect in the state of New Jersey.
After helping Paramus Catholic win a state championship in 2017, Bolds was picked as a third-team all-state selection by the Newark Star Ledger.
He is expected to sign his letter of intent around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
