The College Football Playoff committee announced its first Top 25 Poll of the season Tuesday and as expected, the Nittany Lions sit within the Top 15 at No. 14 overall.
With four teams making the playoff, plus an additional eight teams making the remaining New Year's Six Bowls, the Lions sit in a favorable position to once again make an elite bowl game if they're able to win out. That won't be easy, however, especially this upcoming weekend, as the Lions will travel to Ann Arbor to take on No. 5 Michigan.
Penn State is coming off its biggest win of the season, defeating No. 16 Iowa, 30-24. The only other Big Ten team inside the Top 25 is Ohio State, who sits at No. 10.
