Yetur Gross-Matos Earns Virtual NFL Draft Invitation

The next wave of top prospects moving from the college ranks into the NFL next year won't walk across an elaborate stage or be greeted by the commissioner this year.

That hasn't stopped the NFL from working to incorporate those very players into its three-day draft festivities later this month, though.

Still set to conduct a virtual draft April 23-25, the NFL is still inviting a select group of players to participate, and Monday afternoon, Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos was announced as being chosen among them.

Gross-Matos continues to be widely projected as a low-first round, high-second round prospect in this year's draft following his three-season stint with the Nittany Lions.

As a junior in 2019, Gross-Matos finished with 15.0 TFL and 9.5 sacks in 12 games, making 40 stops along the way. For his career, he finished with 111 total tackles, 37.0 TFL and 19 sacks to go along with a pair of forced fumbles and recoveries in 38 games played.

In the latest mock draft by NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, Gross-Matos is projected to the Miami Dolphins at pick No. 18 overall in the first round. Fellow analyst Charles Davis has Gross-Matos to the Seattle Seahawks with pick No. 27 in the first round.

According to NFL.com, the three-day event will be aired on the NFL Network and ESPN, as well as a separate presentation set for ABC.

"ESPN and NFL Network will combine to offer a singular presentation across both networks, while ABC will present its own distinctive, prime-time telecasts for rounds 1-3, in addition to simulcasting the ESPN and NFL Network telecast of rounds 4-7."
