-- James thinks the defense played like they're one of the best defenses in the country on Saturday.

Said there was "too many controllable mistakes" to win on Saturday. Assuming he means offensively but notes that defensively they were tackling too high.

-- Franklin also called Ohio State one of the best defenses in the country.

-- Indiana Players to note...

Offense: Not really much he talked about there but ntoed quarteback Brendan Sorsby is athletic and has done some good things.

Defense:S Philip Dunham and DE Aaron Casey are the two names he pointed out.

-- Franklin notes that earlier in the game when they were about to go for it on 4th and 1 but decided to punt that they had to call a timeout since there were 12 men in the huddle. Momentum and surprise factor is gone with the timeout and decided to punt.

A few times early so far he's emphasized the struggles on third down.

-- Franklin says the run-pass ratio wasn't "their problem" on Saturday.

-- "Our biggest issue in that game was third down and that impacted everything else." - Franklin.

-- James calls the offensive line performance in general "we didn't play up to our standards in that environment." Also notes that that was not just the offensive line but the entire offense.

On defense, "it's hard to be critical" but doesn't think they did a good job of being aware of where Marvin Harrison Jr was at all times like they planned.

-- Franklin doesn't expect Chop Robinson's "medical issue" to be a long-term issue.

-- Asked about the Michigan "scandal"..... Franklin says Penn State is always aware of their signals and how they plan to disguise them, etc.

Says going to the NFL style of play calling wouldn't solve the entirety of the issues that have been presented by what's going on.

-- Franklin ones again notes that if you go three-and-out, there won't be the opportunities to get everyone the touches that is needed.

Says Penn State run issues come back to needing to block better on the perimeter, make safeties miss, and how defenses are playing the Nittany Lions this season.

-- "I think it's more than fair to judge me and my staff," - James Franklin when asked if its fair for people to judge him on his lack of success against Ohio State.

-- Franklin notes that Penn State has to be careful that this loss doesn't get them twice and notes that's happened in the past.

-- "We need to be able to attack the entire width of the field and the entire 110 yards of the field. " - Franklin on the passing attack.
