Penn State's Ace Baldwin named to Bob Cousey Award watch list

Penn State senior guard Ace Baldwin Jr has been named to the Bob Cousey Award preseason watch list. The former VCU Ram was one of 20 preseason finalists for the award which was announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday.

Baldwin followed Penn State head coach Mike Rhoades to Happy Valley after being the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 2022-2023, as well as the A-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He was the fourth player ever in the conference's history to win both awards in the same season.

As a whole, the Baltimore (MD) averaged 12.7 points, 5.8 assists, and 2.2 assists per game last season for the Rams and recorded double-digit offensive outputs in 21 of 30 games last season. For his career, Baldwin has averaged 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game across 80 career games. During his three-year career at VCU, Baldwin started in all 80 career games that he played in.

Baldwin and the Nittany Lions will take on Robert Morris this Friday in an exhibition game before starting their 2023-2024 season on November 6 against the Delaware State Hornets.
