It began with a Tweet on Saturday night.

Appearing to inspire confidence among the Penn State faithful, Sanders took the suggestion and ran with it Sunday afternoon.

Following months of speculation regarding his intention to follow through with his commitment to the Nittany Lions or not, ignited most recently by a planned official visit to Michigan State on Jan. 29, Sanders announced his change of heart.

The No. 1-ranked player in Pennsylvania's Class of 2016 according to Rivals.com, Sanders is the No. 2-ranked, four-star rated all-purpose back, and the No. 64 overall prospect in the nation.

He is still expected to take an official visit to Penn State on Jan. 22.

Future teammate, Rivals.com four-star weakside defensive end Shane Simmons, weighed in on the announcement via Twitter.
