There are few players in college football more electric than Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler. The Michigan native was a star in the making during his time in Happy Valley inconsistent quarterback play and some limitations kept him from becoming a household name.

Is he a hidden gem in a loaded 2020 NFL Draft class? Or will his size and lack of some key measurables keep him from becoming what all Penn State fans hoped he would be?

K.J. Hamler - 5-9, 179
Strengths Weaknesses

Legitimate speed to every level

Beating press coverage is a question

Twitchy athlete who can separate on routes

Height isn’t a problem, size is

Good route runner who breaks at stem

Basket catcher who had a drop issue in 2019

Good body control when going for catch

Good route runner, but can improve

Deep threat with great production

Very hard to guard in man coverage

There is no other place to start with K.J. Hamler than with his speed. Even for the NFL, he has a game-changing ability.
