We'll start in the most obvious spot: James Franklin confirmed on Wednesday night that third-year defensive tackle Hakeem Beamon, who missed every Penn State contest in September, will be "unavailable" for the remainder of the season.

No reason was given as to why that is the case, but it officially puts to rest any and all speculation regarding whether or not a player who was an expected two-deep contributor in the preseason would see the field.

Here are some other news and notes from both practice and the interviews with Franklin and offensive tackle Caedan Wallace that followed it.

The link below has PSU-Indiana ticket information. A "limited" number of tickets remain.

Here's the promised update on Parsons and Oweh, who continue to find their way into defensive backfields through the early part of the NFL schedule.

Quote of the day

"We had already discussed everything prior to the White Out game. We had already discussed recruiting and where Penn State was, how early I wanted to end it, all of that. We were definitely talking about it the whole way up to the White Out and the whole way back. We also talked about it the whole week before the Villanova game, so we were all pretty locked in as a family for a little while now."
