Penn State’s Class of 2022 is off to a great start on offense, but there is one position, running back, that still remains open with not just one, but likely two scholarships to give. If you look at the offers James Franklin and his staff have extended, you’ll see over two dozen players at the position, but in reality, there are five or six players to focus on, one of whom is George Pettaway from Suffolk, Va.

A four-star prospect and member of the Rivals250, Pettaway has held an offer from the Nittany Lions for nearly a year now, and over that time, he’s become comfortable with running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.

“The relationship is going good right now. Everything has been real consistent with him, along with a few other assistants,” Pettaway said. “Also, I’ve been talking to Coach Franklin. We’ve been talking more and more, and then also doing these Zoom calls, that helps too. Those have mainly been about the running back stuff they do at practice, things like that.
