Hampton back on board

During a Big Ten season in which few things went very well for the Nittany Lions, things went further south when coveted Rivals.com three-star power forward Joe Hampton decommitted one day before the Nittany Lions' final game of the regular season.
The next day, they beat Minnesota on the road, then went on to take down Nebraska and Iowa in the first two rounds of the Big Ten Tournament before falling in a tough contest versus Purdue.

With momentum returning to close out the season, some optimism returned and today, more than two months after his decision to open things back up, the Oak Hill product has re-upped his commitment to the Nittany Lions.

Ranked the No. 114-overall prospect by Rivals.com for the Class of 2016, the 6-foot-7 Hampton now becomes the second in the class behind the recent verbal of Nazeer Bostick.
Hampton and future Nittany Lion Josh Reaves - set to enroll next month - played together on an Oak Hill Academy squad that reached the DICK'S National title game at Madison Square Garden in April. The team fell to Monteverde, 70-61, for its first loss of the year.
