Lions add 20th verbal commitment

Blue White Illustrated has confirmed that Rivals.com three-star cornerback Anthony Johnson verbally committed to Penn State Tuesday evening.

A native of Euclid, Ohio, Johnson took an official visit to Penn State this past weekend, but it wasn't until earlier today that he officially landed an offer from head coach James Franklin.

"When I was there, I loved everything about it, so that's why I had to jump on the offer so quickly," Johnson said. "Once I saw the stadium and met the coaches, I was really excited. I already knew Coach Banks from Illinois, but then when I met everyone else, I really liked what they had to say and what they had to show me.

"It was just a great weekend, so I knew that this was where I wanted to go as soon as I got the offer."

During his visit, Johnson was hosted by sophomore Koa Farmer.

"Koa was great," said Johnson. "He introduced me to a lot of guys, like Marcus Allen. I met a few others, too. They made me feel right at home. They showed me a lot of the town and campus.

"I loved all the people that I met, too. Everyone is very proud of their team up there. It's a great college atmosphere."

Blue White Illustrated will have more on Johnson in the coming days.
