Penn State announces plans of Legacy Plaza at Beaver Stadium

Penn State on Thursday morning announced that over the next several months, the university will be installing a Legacy Plaza at Beaver Stadium. The plaza will be located on Curtin Road next to the south endzone tunnel, it's expected to be completed in time for the 2023 regular season.

The Legacy Plaza according to the press release will honor the football program's history including both program success but also individual success this includes plaques for each of the program's 136 seasons.

"Penn State Football has rich tradition and history, and we are excited to be able to recognize all of those accomplishments with this new Legacy Plaza at Beaver Stadium," Penn State athletic director Dr. Patrick Kraft said in the press release. "We want our Lettermen, Varsity 'S' members, Blue Band members, and all of Nittany Nation to be a part of this celebration of Penn State Football."

The university also would like fans to be a part of the plaza with the opportunity to buy a paver brick that will be a part of the plaza. Each paver bought will also result in the buyer receiving a replica brick Potential buyers can customize a message for the paver or choose a paver that has the Nittany Lion head logo. Former Penn State lettermen could also choose to use the letterman's club logo while alumni who were varsity athletes could choose the classic Penn State varsity "S" logo for the brick.

Penn State is offering four different potential bricks for those interested in purchasing.

4" x 8" Brick: $350 – Can contain 1-3 lines of text and up to 16 characters per line.

8" x 8" Brick: $500 – Can contain 1-6 lines of text and up to 16 characters per line.

8" x 8" Logo Brick: $600 – Can contain 1-3 lines of text and up to 16 characters per line.

12" x 12" Logo Brick: $1,000 – Can contain 1-5 lines of text and up to 20 characters per line.

Additionally, Penn State says that the messages can contain any letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark that is found on an English keyboard but the bricks may not have any sort of contact information, emojis, or manifestos.
