Penn State has nine verbal commitments in the Class of 2018's penultimate edition of the Rivals250.

Yesterday, it was announced that WR Justin Shorter and RB Ricky Slade were Penn State's two representatives in the Rivals100. Shorter sits 47th overall, while Slade is just a few spots behind him, at No. 53 overall. However, James Franklin and his staff still have a great chance at adding a few Rivals100 prospects to its commitment list, as five-star DE Micah Parsons sits fifth overall, while OL Rasheed Walker (No. 57) and DL Tyreke Smith (No. 60) also sit within the latest edition of the Rivals100.

Outside of the top 100, Penn State has seven verbal commitments in the Rivals250. TE Zack Kuntz sits just outside the top 100 at No. 111 overall, while OL Nana Asiedu (No. 127) and TE Pat Freiermuth (No. 132) are both within the top 150.

DT PJ Mustipher is the lone representative between 150-200, as he sits at No. 165 overall. Rounding out the group is LB/DL Nick Tarburton (No. 202), WR Daniel George (No. 228) and CB Trent Gordon (No. 241). OL Antwan Reed, who was previously ranked No. 229 overall, fell just outside of the Rivals250.
