For Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara tight end Mark Wedderburn, it was more of a matter of 'when' than 'where.' The 6-foot-6, 235-pound prospect had always held a special place for Penn State, and now he is finally on board.

Wedderburn, the younger brother of former Penn State lineman Floyd Wedderburn, became the 12th member of the Nittany Lion Class of 2008 when he verbally committed to Penn State linebackers coach Ron Vanderlinden on Sunday, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
He later confirmed the story to BWI via a text message.
He selected the Nittany Lions over scholarship offers from Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, Rutgers and Louisville, among others.
The three-star prospect visited Penn State on September 8 to take in the Nittany Lions' victory over Notre Dame, and is scheduled to make an official visit to Happy Valley on the weekend of December 7.
As a senior, Wedderburn was second on the team in receiving, hauling in 26 passes for 386 yards and a touchdown. He helped lead the Lions to a 6-6 record before bowing out to St. Joseph's Prep in the Philadelphia Catholic League semifinals. He was an honorable mention All-Catholic pick at tight end.
