With March opening up new opportunity in quick-hit fashion as a coaching carousal appears amongst us, Micah Shrewsbury's staff at Penn State will certainly keep their ear to the ground with the transfer portal.
While they've been solid on that front, Shrewsbury has revitalized the program's recruiting culture by aggressively scouting the country for a steady crop of high school/prep talent.
The 2024 and 2025 classes feature a bevy of unique recruits who have thrived this season. Some are under a national microscope while others are just starting to ascend the upper major market.
Here is a look....
As a high octane 5-foot-11 point guard with a flair for the end game as a poised shot maker, Davis was recently named Max Preps 2022-23 Player of the Year for a DC area rife with a steady crop of young talent. Davis averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 boards, and 2.8 assists as the unrivaled leader and calming influence with the ball in his hands at DC power St. John's College.
Davis was instrumental in leading St. John's College to a Top-10 national ranking and a 30-3 season. He shouldered the burden of leader in the WCAC championship game, scoring 21 points and grabbing seven boards. It was Davis' game winning bucket in crunch time which catapulted SJC to another title. Texas A & M, Butler, Maryland, Penn State, George Washington, Seton Hall, and Illinois are among the barrage of programs in the running for the Baltimore-bred point guard.
